Director's Statement
I have always been fascinated by the invisible world people carry within them—their memories, dreams, fears, contradictions, and the quiet emotions that often remain unspoken. Long before a story becomes a screenplay, it begins for me with a feeling or a question about human nature. I am less interested in what happens to my characters than in what happens inside them.
Cinema gives us the extraordinary ability to enter those inner worlds. A single image can carry the weight of a memory. Silence can reveal more than dialogue. Reality and imagination can exist together without contradiction. These possibilities are what continually draw me to filmmaking. I strive to create stories that invite audiences not only to watch events unfold, but to experience the emotional landscapes of the people living through them.
Many of my films explore the fragile relationship between identity, memory, and perception. I am intrigued by the ways people construct versions of themselves, the stories they tell others, and the stories they tell themselves. Whether these tensions emerge through personal relationships, digital culture, or evolving technologies, my focus remains the same: understanding the complexity of being human.
Visually, I am drawn to expressive imagery that serves emotion rather than spectacle. Every frame, movement, and silence should reveal something about a character's inner life. I admire filmmakers who combine intimate human storytelling with cinematic imagination, creating films that feel emotionally truthful while allowing audiences to dream, question, and interpret.
My work as a media scholar has deepened my curiosity about how people perceive images, construct meaning, and negotiate authenticity in an increasingly mediated world. Rather than separating research from filmmaking, I see them as two ways of asking the same questions. One seeks understanding through scholarship; the other seeks understanding through stories.
Ultimately, I hope my films create experiences that linger after the screen goes dark. I want audiences to leave not only remembering what they watched, but remembering how it made them feel. If a film can awaken a forgotten memory, challenge a familiar perspective, or quietly change the way someone sees another person, then it has accomplished something meaningful.
